Teaching Prize for Mathematicians

A College Teaching Prize was awarded to Laurence O'Toole and Prof. Ruediger Schack for their development of an e-learning facility that delivers and marks personalised weekly worksheets for Business Statistics students. In particular the innovative use of technology and pedagogy was commended.

Mathematics represented at 'Pairing 2007'

Dr Steven Galbraith was invited speaker at the first International Conference on Pairing-based Cryptography (Pairing 2007) held in Tokyo, Japan on July 2-4, 2007. Further details on http://www.pairing-conference.org/.

Exploring Mathematics 2007

The Exploring Mathematics course will take place on Wednesday 27 June 2007. The programme this year features talks titled 'Codemakers versus Codebreakers: Who wins?' and 'Counting infinity', as well as workshops, a panel discussion and a quiz.
