17th December - "Kac-Moody Groups: a Profinite Perspective"

The meeting is part of the "South England Profinite Groups Meetings" and is supported by the LMS. The meeting will introduce newcomers to Kac-Moody algebras and groups. It will then move on to recent results and open problems from a profinite perspective.

Paralympian Sophie brings home Gold and Silver medals

Maths student Sophie Christiansen, 20, and Former Royal Holloway student Helene Raynsford, 28, are celebrating having won three Gold medals and one Silver between them at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing.
